Shimo, Dewey and Louise had decided to relocate to the forest. They were quite lucky that they had a direct emissary of the cat god on their side, as he could convene with all of the cats of Earth directly. The cats were made aware of the threat that the couches posed, along with the humans’ helplessness towards their couch addiction. Their clearest path forward was a future without humans, and without couches. The cats would control their own destiny from now on.
Man, this was really easy. Like, we were about to try and get rid of all the couches, when we could quite literally run away from our problem? Amazing.
Yes, but now that you put it that way, I am a little worried that we didn’t really solve anything. Like, the humans are most likely just going to fall back into that sedated state, and the world will fall apart. Also, most of our cats are too domesticated and don’t even know how to get food out here. Are we even sure this will work?
You suggested it,, Louise.
Thanks for that, I guess I take sole responsibility for the future of our people.
Yup.
Okay, cool.
Shimo suddenly materialized in front of them, returning from Litrinaht.
Hello, saviors, it looks like our Lord is healing already, alongside the realm as a whole. I am not going to lie, I really had no faith in this plan, Louise, but I did not see any other path forward. In fact, I was already reading my own last rites. Then, I start observing the couches pulling out of the realm and I just about fell over, it seems that everything will be alright.
Louise stared at Shimo with the most blank expression.
You didn’t trust me?
Oh, of course not. I was like “There’s no way that we can just run away from this problem”, but I guess we can!
Louise turned to Dewey, who was licking his belly. She turned back, annoyed.
Okay, yeah I guess I “ran away” from the problem, but I probably saved a lot of lives. We could not afford to go to war with the couches.
Oh, I know. I wasn’t doing anything, I was preparing to lay down and die! However, now you do have to live with the fact that you abandoned the humans. Remember that.
Cheers! Hope you have a great time in the forest! This is a brave new cat world!
God, I cannot find any water around here!
We are doomed.
